Privacy Policy for Neotopia

Neotopia ("the Game") is developed by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the Game collects, why, and how it is used.

Information the Game Collects

• Platform gaming account data. The Game uses your device platform's own gaming service — Google Play Games Services on Android, Game Center on iOS. If you are signed in, the Game receives a player ID and public profile name to identify your save. We do not receive your email address, password, or contact list.
• Gameplay progress. Your in-game progress (resources, creatures, plants, levels) is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to the platform gaming service, it may also be backed up so you can restore progress on a new device — through Google's servers on Android, or through Game Center saved games in your own iCloud account on iOS.
• Friends and gifts (optional). If you use the optional friends feature, a short friend code and the display name you choose are stored in our Firebase Firestore database so that players who exchange codes can send each other in-game gifts. There is no account, sign-in, or password, and no email address or contact list is involved. Display names are visible only to players you have mutually accepted as friends.
• Advertising (Google AdMob). The Game shows optional, reward-based video ads through Google AdMob. These ads are strictly non-personalised: the Game configures AdMob for child-directed treatment and a G content rating, so ads are never selected using your advertising identifier or any profile of you. The Game does not track you. We do not link your data with third-party data for advertising purposes, and we do not share your data with data brokers. Because the ads are non-personalised and no tracking takes place, the Game does not present a personalised-advertising consent prompt, and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission on Apple devices. • Diagnostic data. Anonymous crash and error reports are collected through Sentry, a third-party crash-reporting service, to help us fix bugs. These reports describe the fault (such as an error message and where in the Game it happened) and are not used to identify or track you. Your device platform may additionally collect standard crash and performance data of its own.

What We Do Not Collect

The Game does not collect your name, email address, physical location, contacts, or photos directly. We do not sell your personal information. The Game does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and therefore does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission on Apple devices. This website sets no cookies and contains no advertising or analytics trackers.

How Information Is Used

Collected information is used to operate core game features (saving your progress, syncing it across devices, and sending gifts to friends you have added) and to show and measure the optional non-personalised video ads described above through Google AdMob. We do not sell, rent, or share information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Local save data remains on your device until you uninstall the Game or clear its data. Cloud save data is retained by your platform's gaming service under its own retention policy — Google Play Games Services tied to your Google account on Android, or Game Center saved games in your iCloud account on iOS. Friend codes, display names and unclaimed gifts remain in our database until the gift is claimed or you ask us to delete them. Children's Privacy

The Game is designed to be suitable for a general audience, including younger players. Advertising is configured for child-directed treatment, which means ads are non-personalised and limited to a G content rating. The Game does not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the platform gaming account data described above, and the display name a player chooses for the optional friends feature.

Your Choices

You can play the Game without signing in to any platform gaming service, in which case only local, on-device save data is used. You may disconnect Google Play Games from your device's Google Play Games app settings, or Game Center from your device's Settings app. The friends feature is entirely optional, and you can remove a friend at any time from within the Game. Watching a rewarded video ad is always optional and never required to progress in the Game, and the ads you are shown are never selected using your advertising identifier or any profile of you.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the Game adds features. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
